![]() ![]() In the end what I'm asking for here is more in terms of out of the box solutions to high end equipment, and also experience with pitfalls with this segment of equipment. If I'm correct in this, I'm not gonna run and buy Titans just because they're more expensive. When I say I'm not entirely blind to bang/buck, I mean that as far as I know the Titans have shown to perform similarly to the much more reasonably priced 780s. Also, I live in Norway, so prices here are about 25% higher. I'm actually hoping to piece together a NAS with parts of the same budget, if there's room, which can run pretty high, depending on setup. I'm not looking for the most expensive items just for them to be expensive. I realize this is in large part a waste of money, and that the returns will be diminishing, however, this isn't money I can save or spend elsewhere, so it is what it is. What are the pros and cons of what I've specified? How can it be improved? In which ways might there be pitfalls?Įdit: Ok, a few clarifications here. (The case I'm currently rocking is the Banchetto 101, which is very pretty in my eyes.) A megaton of RAM, and a beautiful case to boot. Anywhere from 1 to 4 (I'm suddenly weary of microstutter.) water cooled GPUs. Probably a SSD raid setup, if not some PCIe drive, like Revodrive. In essence, though, I want three monitors of at least 27 inches, hopefully >60 hz, and hardware able to run it as smoothly as possible. I probably would go for the 780s before the Titans. Also, I'm not entirely blind to bang/buck ratio. I'm aiming for a triple rad with at the most 3 12 cm fans. I'm willing to trade power for efficiency (lower TDP, but higher FLOPS/watt or whatever). I imagine I won't be able to get away without any fans for this project, but I'd like to get close. My current PC runs at stable temperatures with NO fans, only a single water pump through a triple radiator. The rig will mostly be used for gaming, but also hosting a few servers for the usual suspects (game servers, web, etc). I've always been good at piecing together a good beast with regards to bang per buck, but now I need some help maneuvering the high-end. ![]() So, I'm looking to spend quite a bit on my next gaming rig. ![]()
